Howard Mercer Metalwork, based in Blackburn, England, has been supplying high quality metal working throughout Lancashire and the whole of the United Kingdom for the past 20 years. We focus on high quality fabrication engineering and ornamental metalwork, so our services are varied, but we tend to specialise in punched flat bars, railings and gates, plasma cutting, balconies, staircases and fire escapes, and production cutting, but can also produce bespoke 'one-offs' to suit your exact requirements.

PUNCHED BAR
Our Edwards automated punches allow for rapid production and increased turnaround times and we don't have a minimum or maximum quantity. We can punch bars for various applications, which generally include railings and staircases, security screens and grilles. Our cost effective production machinery can provide you with a very competative quote as labour is kept to a minimum.

RAILINGS & GATES
Commercial and domestic railings and gates can either be made to your own designs or we would be more than happy to carry out the design ourselves. Options are endless and limited only by your imagination. If you are looking for automated gates for your property look no further as we have a wealth of experience in this field. We can offer a variety of finishes, including powder coating, galvanising and painting.

PLASMA CUTTING
Our Plasma Cutter can create any shape you want, no matter how complex. Whether you are sourcing base plates or more decorative items such as weather vanes plasma cutting can be a cost effective solution. Again there are no minimum or maximum quantites.

STAIRCASES & FIRE ESCAPES
Commercial and domestic stairs and fire escapes are our forte. Not only do we fabricate but we also offer a full installation service. We welcome submitted designs or can offer our own design services. All staircases and fire escapes meeting the legal Building Regulation requirements. We can design and build staircases to suit all applications in either mild steel or stainless steel and also provide a variety of finishes.

PRODUCTION CUTTING & GUILLOTINE
We offer automated sawing and production cutting for large quantities of identical items. By offering a low cost per cut it maybe cheaper to outsource your cutting than undertake it in-house. We offer a collection and delivery service for local clients, but can also source materials and arrange nationwide delivery for clients further afield. For sheet steel cutting consider our 3.2m swing-arm guillotine - the largest available - which can cut 12mm thick mild steel or 6mm stainless steel.
